My name is Andy Lewis. I grew up in the panhandle of Florida. I am a land surveyor by trade. Being that my job required me to be outside 90% of the time I started growing a beard during the winter months to keep my face warm. During the month of December, instead of my regular cool weather hat, I liked to don a santa hat instead. That's how this story started...
In 2002, while walking with my wife in the Panama City Mall, I was flagged over to the area where they do the santa pictures. The manager of the set asked me if I'd be interested in playing santa. I reminded her that I already had a full time job, and she said that we would be able to work out something. The company, Sephia, required all of their santa's to have real beards. I worked at the Panama City Mall, Pier Park Mall, and University Mall for 3 different photographers over the next 10 years.
In 2010 my job transferred me to the Houston area. Now that I own my own suit I'd still enjoy playing santa part time during this incredible season!
